Build an HD Conference for Optimal Communications

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Businesses today are tasked with delivering clear and efficient communications that support the business and are cost efficient.

To both save businesses a significant amount of capital on travel costs and increase productivity, audio conferencing has gained ground as a way to communicate with partners, colleagues and others located anywhere in the world.

But having an audio conference that delvers choppy or hard to hear sound is not an effective way for communications to occur, for this reason, the HD conference plays an integral role.

HD conference provider ClearOne (News - Alert) offers an overview of the options available to organizations and some smart questions to ask in the evaluation process I their white paper titled: "Optimal Audio for Conference Rooms."

One of the greatest benefits of the HD conference is that it offers support for the communications and allows participants to focus on the matter at hand as well as share ideas and documents clearly and effectively, without letting the technology allowing them to do this, get in the way.

Room acoustics are very important to having an HD conference and should be installed by conferencing professionals who can measure reverberation, echo and sources of other noise. Questions should be asked like: "Are the walls or windows "hard" and likely to reflect sound?" and "Are the furniture and other accouterments likely to absorb sound or reflect it?"

Choosing the right conference phones plays a key roll in holding audio calls in small and medium conference rooms and in larger rooms can also be beneficial if they are trying to remain cost efficient and don’t require video.

Because audio plays a key role in a conferencing session and its effectiveness, its essential that audio be optimal. To further improve audio during a conferencing session, choosing the right microphone and placing it in the right position is also important for quality audio.

By carefully considering these options and working with a conferencing professional, it is possible to have a successfully installed environment where meeting participants can conduct HD conference sessions with ease.
