ZeroPC Provides Desktop in the Cloud for Enterprise Mobility

By Stefanie Mosca, TMCnet Managing Editor

With our professional lives reaching new technological heights, the old standards of being stuck in the office 40 hours a week aren’t as practical as they once were.

In fact, the biggest trend among enterprises today is transitioning their offices to virtual environments to encourage enterprise mobility when and wherever necessary. Whether an employee is working from home or across the country on a business trip, enterprise mobility tools allow everyone to stay connected to the office regardless of their actual location.

However, in order to embrace enterprise mobility, most companies have to agree to allow their data to be accessed through the cloud, which can bring up issues of security.

If you are looking for a reliable and safe way to access all of your professional or personal documents through the cloud, ZeroPC offers a next generation Web desktop solution for public or private cloud computing from any device.

ZeroPC turns any browser into a virtual desktop and allows users to create, connect and share using their mobile devices or personal computer.

With ZeroPC, users begin by easily and securely moving their desktop content online, so they can access it from any location. Once all documents, videos, photos, emails and social networking tools are all in one place, users can connect their information and files using their laptop, tablet, smartphone or even desktop computer- as long as it has a browser. After they are connected, users can share their information privately or publicly with friends, family or colleagues using a secure link.

ZeroPC also includes a Windows-like interface to maximize user experience and eliminate the downtime associated with learning how to navigate a new program. And since users are able to access the program from any browser, there is minimal user requirement involved.

This cloud offering includes a pay-as-you-go model depending on the scalability each user is looking for as well as a free version which includes limited capabilities.

ZeroPC also offers Quickshare, a social site connection that started three months ago as well as a mobile application for smartphones that launched two months ago. In the near future, the company plans to add to its offerings by including a free user account program as well.
