911 ETC Webinar to Answer Questions About Hurdles in E9-1-1 Implementation

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

E9-1-1 is a somewhat complicated concept for those who cannot think in terms of GPS-style positioning. Whether or not the individual understands the technology won't matter in the grand scheme of things - as long as their location can be easily identified in the case of an emergency.

To provide more details about their E9-1-1 implementation and ongoing maintenance, 911 ETC is holding a webinar on Thursday, June 10, 1pm EST. During this webinar, two 911 ETC clients, Booz Allen Hamilton (News - Alert) and CH2M Hill will conduct a Q&A session.

911ETC E9-1-1 industry experts, Bill Svien, EVP and Mike Anderson, National Sales Manager will also be on hand to answer questions. This event is designed as a follow-up to a panel session the company completed at Global Connect (News - Alert) in Denver.

To add to the value of the webinar, Guy Clinch, Sr. Solutions Manager with Avaya will sit on the panel. All Global Connect attendees are invited to the webinar and the response has been significant, demanding that the allowed bridge number be increased to accommodate those wishing to join in.

The previous session focused on the challenges a company can face in the implementation of a total solution for E9-1-1. Questions for the upcoming event may center around specific hurdles, such as:

  • Joining separate and distinct PBX (News - Alert) clusters into one database
  • Investigating E9-1-1 facility routing in order for the 911 call to be delivered to the proper PSAP in a TDM environment
  • Utilizing ASA for database build and ongoing management
  • Different client attributes and varying rules of engagement for database administration
  • DID to non-DID translation
  • Interaction with various telcos
  • Implementation of a hybrid solution for VoIP and TDM
  • Legislation updates
  • Logistics

Anyone interesting in learning more about overcoming such hurdles is invited to attend the webinar. Here's the link to register: http://www.911etc.com/web_signup
