911 ETC's Larry Scott Earns Industry Leader Award

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

In conjunction with the National Emergency Number Association, the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials, the National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators, the 9-1-1 Industry Allianceand the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus, the E9-1-1 Institute will present the Industry Leader Award to Larry A. Scott.

A resident of Snohomish, Wash., Scott will receive the award as part of the 7th Annual “9-1-1 Honors Gala” in Washington D.C. This Industry Professional Award is designed to honor individuals in the commercial sector who make exceptional contributions towards the advancement of emergency 9-1-1 communications.

In 1997, Scott founded 911 ETC, Inc., out of his own home. His vision included helping businesses and schools to employ E911 solutions that would provide accurate location information when a call is made.

“Larry Scott is a great entrepreneur dedicated to emergency communications, paving the way for cutting edge technology solutions in the 9-1-1 field,” said Gregory L. Rohde, Executive Director of the E9-1-1 Institute, in a statement. “He is well deserving of this national recognition.”

911 ETC today has built a strong reputation in the market for aiding schools, businesses, hospitals and government agencies in providing E911 solutions for multi-line telephone systems and VoIP. Company clients include Macy’s, Hyatt Hotels, Social Security Administration, Walgreens, US Bank, the Department of Interior and multiple school districts, universities, healthcare facilities, cities and counties.

In other 911 ETC news, the company provided Rockefeller Group Technology Solutions, a provider of voice, data, cabling, and Internet services and solutions, with a custom loader (Auto-MAC) to accept the data in its existing format. And with RGTS’ work performing hundreds of moves, adds and changes a day that solution helped the company save hours of work, officials said.

911 ETC was recently invited to exhibit at upcoming The 2010 EDU Research Group Conference 2010 to highlight the importance of E911 on school campuses across the nation. This conference is the nation’s largest venue for exhibiting and interacting face-to-face with decision-makers and influencers in the Education industry.

In a recent report, “Location Based Services Market in America 2008-2012,” the LBS market in the United States is undergoing a rapid transformation into a strong growth industry, driven by the country’s control and management of the GPS system and E911 legislation.
