Customer Service Software: Salesforce Named to Gartner's Leader Quadrant

By Juliana Kenny, TMCnet Managing Editor

Salesforce.com (News - Alert), provider of customer service software, recently revealed that Gartner, a research firm, has listed the company in the Leaders quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Sales Force Automation.”

As a leader in the customer service software sector, Salesforce joins the other leaders that Gartner (News - Alert) deems worth of the title. These leaders were selected by Gartner based on their “market-defining” visions of how technology can help top tier business professionals make the most of their customer experience strategies.

By demonstrating the ability to provide market-leading software and services, the other leaders display solid business results from their solutions. To be selected, a business should have demonstrated successful customer deployments in North America, EMEA, and the Asia/Pacific region in a various range of verticals and industries.

"We believe salesforce.com's leadership position is a direct result of our commitment to innovation," said Alex Dayon, EVP of applications, salesforce.com in a press release.  "The social and mobile capabilities of our flagship Sales Cloud product along with Chatter and Jigsaw deliver the tools today's sales people need to be effective and successful in their work."

With tools such as Jigsaw Data Cloud, and Salesforce Chatter, the company does not have a difficult time staying ahead of the customer service software industry. Most recently, Forbes Magazine named the company the “world’s most innovative company” in addition to lauding Marc Benioff (News - Alert) as the “most innovative leader.”
