The Boy Scouts of America, a values-based youth development organizations, is using Blackbaud CRM software as the platform for its constituent relationship management efforts.

Designed specifically for the unique needs of nonprofits, the solution will help BSA as it moves to a cutting-edge IT infrastructure offering an improved experience for its members and greater administrative efficiencies.

According to a release, BSA will use Blackbaud CRM software at its national office in Irving, Texas, and also at its 296 local councils all across the nation.

Blackbaud's CRM solution will connect more than 10,000 BSA users to a centralized database.

In addition to enabling better coordination, this connection will expand fundraising activities via direct-mail campaigns, product sales, and a direct dialogue with about 30 million alumni and supporters.

"Our organization is composed of thousands of BSA professionals with different computer skill levels. The user-friendliness and adaptability of Blackbaud CRM software make it a good match for our needs," said Ron Tozzie, chief information officer for the Boy Scouts of America. "Also, we will engage Blackbaud to implement a best-practices workflow throughout our organization--giving us the benefit of its extensive nonprofit management experience and helping us as we continually work to be good stewards of our resources."

"We're extremely pleased that the Boy Scouts of America has chosen Blackbaud CRM as a key component to its organizational and IT transformation," said Charlie Cumbaa, president of the enterprise customer business unit at Blackbaud. "The Blackbaud CRM solution will help the Boy Scouts of America work more efficiently, freeing up resources to benefit their local councils and Scouts."
