Marc Benioff, CEO of the CRM cloud computing giant Salesforce.com (News - Alert), is scheduled to host President Obama’s fundraising dinner on April 20 in San Francisco, CA. Those lucky guests will have to shell out the dough, though. With a price tag (News - Alert) of $35,800 per guest, the fundraiser’s cost of attending has jumped $5,000 since last year’s dinner, according to reports.
The 2010 dinner hosted by Google (News - Alert) executive Marissa Mayer also boasted a serious price tag, but devotees of Obama are raising eyebrows this year at the skyrocketed price tag.
With $30,800 of the entrée fee going to the Democratic National Committee, the other $5,000 will go to Obama’s primary campaign and general election fund this year.
The President is scheduled that day to visit Facebook’s (News - Alert) headquarters in Palo Alto, CA, meeting with Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and COO Sheryl Sandberg. The visit will include a town hall style meeting and will stream live on Facebook on April 20.
Taking questions from members of a live audience including approximately 1,000 Facebook employees, and other business entrepreneurs and figures, Obama will address questions as a sort of launch to his campaign for 2012.
Additionally, Obama will be hosting a lower-priced fundraising event at San Francisco’s Masonic Auditorium with tickets spanning costs of $25 to $2,500.
