Going Global with IP Conference Phone Systems

By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor

Businesses today are becoming more widespread as companies locate their offices to overseas markets. And because of the global reach, enterprises need technology solutions that will keep dispersed employees connected.

Enter the rise of conference phone systems. The technology, which has become increasingly popular in recent years, has changed the way people communicate. Unlike telephone calls where only two people talk to one another, conferencing systems let users speak with multiple people at the same time. This helps businesses boost their efficiency, according to Telcom & Data Inc., a provider of business phone systems and & conferencing equipment.

As companies expand their global footprint, the need to stay in contact with business partners in different countries grows. While occasion travel may be necessary, “for regular talks, no option can be as best as conferencing systems,” Tom Annerino, IT Manager at Telcom & Data, wrote in the company’s blog.

Business phone systems and Internet are two important tools widely used for conferencing today. The widespread popularity, increased growing of manufacturers that make business phone systems and the soaring demand for the technology are just are reasons why more and more organizations use conferencing solutions. Conference Phone system features such as call transfer, call waiting and mute also make help fuel the technology’s popularity, Annerino said.

The use of IP office-based conferencing, which uses the Internet, is growing because of its cost effectiveness and easy operation.

“The main advantage of conferencing through Internet is you can share other files and folders while talking with clients, employees or delegates,” Annerino wrote. “For instance, [people] can work on the same diagram simultaneously.”

Conference phones are an important tool when businesses are trimming travel budgets and costs. One tool that has especially been useful with conference phones is a VoIP phone system. As TMCnet reported, VoIP conferencing is particularly helpful for small and mid-sized businesses because the cost to deploy the solution is small. Another advantage is that VoIP business phone systems are flexible and can accommodate large number of connections efficiently, company officials said.
