Conferencing Surviving the Recession

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

While the current recession has many businesses slowing their spending, conference call services are surviving the lull as they offer the ability for businesses to save on costs by reducing the need to travel.

With conference call services and other collaboration applications, business users are able to continue with important communications, even as their company’s cut costs and spending.

A recent report from Synergy (News - Alert) Research Group notes that while the worldwide market for Collaborative Applications in Q1 2009 amounted to $913.3 million in sales, and while some customers are waiting on the economy to pick up before making their buying decisions, conferencing has been able to buck the decreasing trend and actually grow revenues.

This uptake in spending on conferencing and collaboration technologies, the research firm notes, is due to an increased move towards technologies with short ROI and that increase employee efficiency.

Collaborative applications offer the ability for employees to work together regardless of their physical location and include applications like Presence Management, UC Desktop, Instant Messaging, Web/Audio/Video Conferencing and Mobile 2.0 (News - Alert) applications.

Eagle Teleconferencing provides the conferencing solutions businesses need to maximize their communications and save on costs. By eliminating the need for travel to interact with partners, customers and employees, Eagle Conferencing allows companies to focus more of their budgets on activities that grow the business.

Eagle Teleconferencing also offers a pay-as-you-go pricing, and utility-grid type architecture so businesses can have conference calls and pay only based on their usage. Also, with a worldwide connection infrastructure that includes the capacity of over 10 billion minutes, it’s easy, safe and cost effective to collaborate when needed.
