Communications Provider Level 3 Communications Offers Services to Telx's Data Center

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

Telx, an interconnection and data center provider in North America, has just revealed that Level 3 Communications (News - Alert), a communications provider of fiber-based services, will be extending its network services into Telx's data center that is located in Clifton, New Jersey.

This expansion will assist in the high demand from Telx enterprise customers desiring high bandwidth IP voice, data and video network services delivered via Level 3's network to the center. Level 3's capabilities will help to elevate the level of fiber capacity, while simultaneously enabling Telx's colocation customers to have more choices when choosing an optimized route from 100 Delawanna Avenue directly to other New Jersey and New York metro data centers and financial exchanges.

"Level 3 is pleased to add another Telx data center to our expanding network of key locations in the U.S., providing more capacity and services to address the growing demand for high-quality network solutions at Telx's New Jersey colocation and interconnection center," said Robert Kaps, Level 3's general manager for the Tri-State Region. "Our deployment with Telx further demonstrates our commitment to expanding a comprehensive suite of network services across the East Coast, enabling efficient and reliable solutions that address today's business challenges in areas such as cloud computing and business continuity."

According to a press release, Telx's recently-expanded 59,000 square feet of space is located only 11 miles from New York City. This convenient location gives customers the ability to lease cages and cabinets, while having access to over 400 carriers, business exchanges, and enterprises through a single cross-connection.

"Telx provides state-of-the-art colocation, interconnection and virtual exchange services that deliver more direct connections to the world's leading networks, enterprises, cloud providers and financial institutions," said Glenn Calafati, vice president of interconnection services for Telx. "The availability of Level 3's services at our recently expanded Clifton data center is a valuable addition to our offering, and brings even more value to our global marketplace of interconnection and colocation customers."
