MinuteHound's time and attendance solution replaces paper time cards and even electronic time clocks with an accurate fingerprint scanning system. To be precise, company officials say instead of labor spent gathering, correcting and entering employee time data, companies can install one or more $99 fingerprint scan devices, connect to the MinuteHound cloud, and use the downloadable data files to feed the payroll system in only minutes per payroll cycle.

The solution brings up to 8 percent cost savings from payroll efficiency and accuracy. Like other cloud applications, MinuteHound can easily scale for company expansion, acquisitions, or facility relocation, a statement from the company said.

The new software also provides organizations with new monitoring tools that allow accurate, real-time reviewing of data through a Web-based interface which offers up-to-date views of employee time clock data.

An e-mail and SMS alerts system watches for any significant changes programmed by management while the drill-down reports interface can be used to investigate further without requiring constant review by supervisors, according to company officials.

The robust cloud platform features multiple servers and data storage facilities, IT maintenance and upgrades, and 128-bit encryption for user data connections. Fingerprint scans are encoded with one-way encryption so actual fingerprints are never stored, just a single number that uniquely identifies each worker.

MinuteHound's service costs only pennies per day per employee, more than offset in most companies by the cost savings to the payroll department, which receives highly accurate data, requiring little or no processing and verification.
