Zenith Infotech’s SmartStyle Computing platform just got a whole lot better as the international company introduced MirrorCloud today, a key component of the computing platform.

MirrorCloud, which will be sold exclusively through a network of over 600 Zenith Infotech (News - Alert) channel partners across Europe, is a “revolutionary business continuity solution” offering scalability, fault tolerance and redundancy to the European Channel, according to Zenith Infotech officials. It will be an integral part of the SmartStyle Computing platform which is designed to help small and medium enterprises (SME) benefit from cloud computing technologies.

“MirrorCloud is an important element of our SmartStyle Platform as it addresses the problem of reliable and cost effective business continuity – one of the main issues facing SMEs,” said Jorre Belpaire, channel director for Zenith Infotech Europe, in a statement. “It is also a fundamental building block as once servers and data are backed up and secure, the activation of other advantageous services built around server virtualization, thin clients, storage and infrastructure-as-a-service is a relatively easy task for our partners.”

MirrorCloud uses a high availability server appliance with built-in configuration wizards, backup, monitoring and support services. If an application server failure occurs, MirrorCloud produces a standby server through its advanced data mirroring that will take over. The solution also boasts an optional backup capability which will allow clients to maintain application access and data recovery.

The solution is built on the modular and scalable SmartStyle Computing platform.

“[The SmartStyle Computing Platform] is really based upon the fact that you can get a solution in to a client site to be able to back up all of their desktops and servers and when those fail they will be instantly be virtualized within our SmartStyle platform and then you can continue to run those in a private cloud for that client,” Stephan Cico, director of technical sales at Zenith Infotech, told TMC at IT EXPO Miami. “The SmartStyle solution not only provides business continuity but also a first step into being able to provide a full private cloud on site.”

From a single MirrorCloud node, Zenith Infotech partners can scale any site to a full SmartStyle private cloud by adding additional nodes to simultaneously support a client’s business continuity requirements and multiple production servers, according to Zenith officials.

MirrorCloud installations are supported 24/7 through a network operation center which includes monitoring, troubleshooting and recovery services. MirrorCloud supports all Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows desktops and servers with additional features including continuous data mirroring, failover virtualization, live bare metal restore and granular exchange recovery.
