Powered Tables Make Use of Your Call Center Furniture Space

By Chris DiMarco, TMCnet Managing Editor

The training room is arguably the most important part of your call center; it’s the central hub of understanding for your agents and needs focus when determining the type of call center furniture you need to purchase.  Making sure you have furniture that makes your agents comfortable through intense training sessions can be the difference between their full understanding and failure on a tough call. But the comfort of your agent is not the only thing that training furniture needs to be successful. Call center outfitter Interior Concepts also suggests powered tables that will allow seamless integration with all of the electronics agents will need to become familiar with.

According to Interior Concepts, “powered tables offer an economical and flexible solution to power the technology needed in training rooms. Tables with power provide a flexible solution that is easy to install and reconfigure. Flexibility is important for training facilities and powered tables allow them to be ready and waiting for laptops, smart phones, computer terminals, lights, or anything else requiring power.”

While choosing power enabled furniture sounds simple enough there are many features that customer need to take into consideration.  Managers should make sure that the units wiring system is UL Listed to make sure it meets codes within a building. Design is also important to take into consideration. Interior Concepts recommends units that can connect for ease of use, and that are simple to disconnect and rearrange as needed.

Warranty is also something that the call center designer should consider when choosing furniture. While furniture with an extensive warranty may have a higher cost the benefits of having coverage that last a life time can be prove valuable to a furniture investment.

Powered tables can provide ample training space and in some cases can reduce cost for a call center by eliminating the need for power strips. Regardless powered furniture enables managers to maximize training space and provide agents with a comfortable and effective learning environment.
