Provider of digital imaging, Canon USA (News - Alert), has announced that 2010 has been a year full of awards, many new product announcements, and a variety of key industry distinctions.
The company said that it was honored for the seventh consecutive year by PCMag.com with the 2010 Readers Choice Award for Service and Reliability for digital cameras and printers. Also, it garnered its second consecutive “Center of Excellence” award from BenchmarkPortal (News - Alert) for The Systems and Technical Support Division.
Additionally, several of the company’s new products and product lines were honored with multiple distinctions throughout the year from outlets such as Time.com, American Photo, Computer Shopper and Digitaltrends.com as well as Outstanding Achievement Awards from Buyers Laboratory (BLI).
Bunji Yano, senior director and general manager for corporate communications at Canon U.S.A, said that the company prides itself on bringing to market a wide array of reliable and practical imaging solutions that not only improve the end-user's experience, but also remain on the forefront of cutting-edge technologies. “These awards and distinctions reaffirm Canon's position as an innovative industry leader.”
Canon EOS 5D Mark II was selected as one of Time Magazine's Top 100 Gadgets of All Time. Plus, the Canon EOS 7D was awarded the Professional Photographer's 2010 Hot One Awards, while Canon EOS Rebel T2i received an Editor’s Choice Award from PCMag.com.
Company officials said that the Canon PowerShot S95 garnered an Editor's Choice Awards from Digitaltrends.com and American Photo and the PowerShot A3000 IS received four out of five stars from PCMag.com.
Also, the Canon VIXIA HF S20 flash-memory camcorder received an Editor's Choice award from Digital Trends and the VIXIA HF S21 was given Editor’s Choice from Popular Mechanics.
Company officials said that this year, the company’s PIXMA, SELPHY and imagePROGRAF printer lines received recognition from key outlets such as PCMag.com.
Earlier this year, the imagePROGRAF iPF8300, iPF6350 and iPF6300 large format printers, and also the imageFORMULA P-150/P-150M, received Five-Star Exceptional ratings from BERTL.
“We are honored to receive all of these important accolades and we look forward to carrying this momentum into next year,” Yano said.
Last month, the company introduced the REALiS WUX4000 D Installation LCOS Projector, the Company’s first high-resolution installation projector for the medical education market.
