Voipfone, an Internet telephone service provided by iNet Telecoms, recently won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, which is regarded as the U.K.’s highest accolade for business success.
As a recent winner of The Queen’s Awards, the directors are invited to a special reception at Buckingham Palace. The business VoIP provider won the award in the innovation category, making it one of the most innovative companies trading in the southeast of England.
“I'm extremely proud that Voipfone has won this award,” said Lee Rose, the company's technical director and founder.
VoIP technology is transforming the global telecommunications landscape. With the advent of VoIP, companies now find an innovative way to communicate while communications providers introduce new and unique telephone services that change the way industry is structured.
Rose developed the Voipfone technology that allowed the conversations to take place over the Internet for free. In late 2003, Rose saw a niche in the market to take on the huge multinational companies and create a cloud-based system that helps small businesses.
Voipfone business got a new dimension when Colin Duffy, Voipfone's current CEO, joined the company in 2005 after spending several years working on the commercial side of telephony and Internet technologies with BT (News - Alert) for many years.
The company is now jointly owned by Lee and Duffy and was formed to develop the latest voice over Internet technologies.
The business VoIP service offered by Voipfone is beneficial to small businesses as it provides them with the features and functions previously solely available to very large companies.
The cost of the business VoIP service offered by Voipfone is very less. The company offers telephone extensions for £1 ($1.52) per month, call queuing for £2 ($3.03) per month, IVR for $3.03 and many free features, such as music on hold, voicemail, call transfer and free calls, between all Voipfone customers wherever they are in the world.
The Web-based self-service and low cost, high-quality services deliver more advanced features than the old public switched telephone network (PSTN).
Meanwhile in North America, Nextiva, another business VoIP provider, has been selected as America's No.1
VoIP service provider. Nextiva’s business VoIP suite encompasses next-generation business phone systems that have helped many companies save up to 65 percent when compared to traditional telephone systems, according to company officials. The various plans include unlimited calling and faxing, U.S.-based Technical Support, and over 100 business-ready features. Users can sign up for the service without any contract needing to be signed or set-up fees.
