Cloud Computing business management suite vendor NetSuite (News - Alert) has
announced that Vertro, an Internet search and content vendor, has moved its ERP operation to the NetSuite cloud.
Vertro now manages its accounting, vendor relationships, and financial consolidation for its multiple subsidiaries, located around the world, with NetSuite OneWorld, NetSuite officials say, not failing to point out that Vertro selected NetSuite OneWorld to replace SAP (News - Alert) BusinessOne.
NetSuite never misses an opportunity to revel in it when anybody switches from SAP to NetSuite.
Vertro provides home pages and toolbars to Internet users. The company selected NetSuite OneWorld because 'in the old environment, subsidiary rollup had to be managed by a cumbersome bolt-on interface, data entry for transactions was tedious, and the CRM support was not integrated,' NetSuite officials said gleefully.
'Additionally,' they said, anxious to pile on, 'the accounting package was client-based, causing the company to incur additional IT staffing, hardware, administrative, and maintenance expense.'
SAP BusinessOne 'wasn’t the right fit for our changing needs,' said Mike Cutler, Vertro CFO, showing he understands what tickles his new vendor's ears more than just about anything. 'Our financial operations are streamlined, our IT support costs are minimal, the reporting serves both the financial and managerial needs, and our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance becomes much easier.'
NetSuite OneWorld was designed 'for modern enterprises with wide operating footprints but a lean operating model,' company officials say, adding that this made it a good fit for Vertro, which operates in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain.
Last month TMC's (News - Alert) Patrick Barnard reported that Hein & Associates, a full-service public accounting and advisory firm, has established a partnership with business software provider NetSuite to provide organizations with a range of customized accounting and regulatory compliance solutions.
These new, industry-specific, customized solutions will be powered by NetSuite's cloud-based applications for financials, enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management.
