Technology Marketing Corporation, publisher of Internet Telephony Magazine and TMCnet.com, recently released a list of the Top 100 Voices in IP Communications. The list is the centerpiece of the magazine’s 100thissue, out this month.

 

Among the people on the list is Dave Horton, Founder, President and CTO of Pactolus, a company that specializes in flexible IP services solutions for carriers.

 

“IP telephony is in its earliest stages of expanding our ability to communicate,” Horton said in a statement. “So far, it's helped redefined the subscriber economics, carrier growth and profit potential of telecommunications, and is helping usher in new service reach and affordability in many under-served parts of our world.”

Horton has built several generations of network-based enhanced services platforms for the carrier market, and led the creation of the Pactolus’ RapidFLEX Application Server and Service Creation Environment.

 

Prior to his role at Pactolus, Horton served as Vice President of Engineering at Open Development Corporation, where he headed up the development of highly successful carrier service applications. He also has helped develop innovative services for AT&T (News - Alert) Wireless.

 

Launched in February 1998, Internet Telephony Magazine is the longest-running publication dedicated completely to coverage of IP communications.

“Our committee looked back over the course of the last decade, and came up with 100 people who we felt should be counted among the Top 100 Voices,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and group editor-in-chief.  “The common thread among all of the Top 100 Voices is that they played a part in the birth, growth and maturity of the IP Communications market.”

 

In addition to being profiled in the magazine, the “Top 100 Voices” were honored at a special reception hosted by Rich Tehrani during the recent Internet Telephony Conference & EXPO West (co-located with IMS EXPO) in San Diego.
