Thanks to the fact that it supports SIP, or session initiation protocol, Parlance's nameConnector auto attendant service offers seamless integration with unified communications systems, including Cisco Unified Call Manager and Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communication Server.
This combination, company officials say, allows enterprises to use nameConnector's call connection performance while "attaining all the various benefits offered by IP-based communications."
In addition, they say, the fully-managed service eliminates the need for IT or telephony staff time devoted to the maintenance of the speech system, "providing operational and economic efficiencies over the course of a given year."
Support for SIP also means the service can be readily integrated with conferencing services. NameConnector, in conjunction with a conference service provider, can be used to simplify dial-in processes by automating the setup and access sequences. Conference call participants need only dial the main nameConnector number and speak the assigned password to join into a call.
The conference organizer, meanwhile, according to company officials, "can automatically launch the conference by dialing nameConnector and speaking their own unique password."
This helps greatly simplify the process for setting up and dialing into a multi-line conference, which otherwise can be a time-consuming and frustrating exercise.
