RadiSys to Present ATCA Solutions at the RBC Capital Conference

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

Advanced embedded solutions provider RadiSys will show off its roster of solutions in Industrial Automation, Medical and AdvancedTCA (News - Alert) at the RBC Capital Markets' 2009 Technology, Media and Communications Conference slated for June 9 to June 10 in San Francisco.

The Oregon-based company’s Chief Financial Officer Brian Bronson will present an overview of the company's business and strategy on Tuesday, June 9, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time.

RadiSys (News - Alert) is a major provider of advanced embedded solutions for the communications networking and commercial systems markets for OEMs, systems integrators and solution providers.

In fact, the company has been changing the way managed ATCA platforms are delivered as the emergence of commercial off the shelf (COTS) hardware platforms, Carrier Grade Linux and management middleware has had a significant impact on the market.

As TMCnet recentlyreported, in a recent white paper from RadiSys, the company called the integration of these technologies a “daunting task” and one which is still in its infancy in terms of being truly addressed.

In an upcoming webinar titled, “Open Specifications for Highly Available Mission-Critical Systems”, presenter Eric Gregory, ATCA product manager for RadiSys, will explore the role of ATCA in these all important applications with a special emphasis on software for RadiSys’ products.

The June 6, 2009 event will be moderated by Chris Ciufo, group editorial director at OpenSystems (News - Alert) Media. Ciufo is responsible for OSP's Military and Aerospace group of magazines, which includes PC/104 & Small Form Factors, VMEbus Systems, Military Embedded Systems, and the all-electronic publication DSP-FPGA.com.

These two events are especially important if you’re a service provider offering audio conferencing to business customers, which have seen a significant increase in demand for service recently. Because the conferencing market has grown exponentially, as TMCnet reported, due to the current global recession and the fact that companies everywhere are slashing their travel budgets and opting for audio conferencing services to facilitate much-needed live collaboration.

A recent study shows that the audio conferencing market is growing at a 28 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and will soon surpass 50 billion minutes of use annually. In additon, new conferencing service providers (CSPs) contonue to enter the market in turn increasing demand. While, some are new entrants, others are existing players who have added conferencing services to their portfolios. As a result of this increasing competition, pricing for conferencing services is flattening and competition is getting fierce.

A live audio webcast and a replay of Brian Bronson’s presentation will be available on the company's investor relations website at http://investor.radisys.com/
