Grandstream Makes GXE502X IP PBX Available

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Grandstream Networks, a manufacturer of IP PBXs, enterprise gateways, voice and video endpoints for the worldwide VoIP market, today announced the general availability of its GXE502x IPPBX.

An all-in-one voice-video-fax-data communication solution for the small to medium sized business – especially companies with sub-30 seats per location – the GXE502x appliance has been designed ground up to support distributed IP communications, unified messaging, advanced application integration and PBX features, according to the company.

In addition, GXE502x product family also optimally integrates legacy PSTN trunk and telephone interfaces for fail-safe hybrid communication, company officials say.

Grandstream officials said that GXE502x is now interoperable with a number of SIP Trunking service providers such as Broadvox, Voxitas, Bandwidth.com, RNK, Excel, Convergia, Metrotel and BabyTel.

Also, the GE502x GA release packs advanced features that were not previously published at the time of initial introduction. Grandstream made the product announcement for the GXE502x in late 2007, according to the company.

David Li (News - Alert), chief executive officer at Grandstream Networks, said that this product pulls many models of company’s existing portfolio together into a complete inherent solution for the SMB and offers “unprecedented” user experience in terms of ease of use and no-brainer integration.

“After testing many IP PBX (News - Alert) systems, the Grandstream GXE-502x IP PBX has by far been the easiest to use and configure,” said John Dunscomb, president of operations at Emerald Technologies. “It is also very flexible, upgrading software couldn’t be more user-friendly.”

David Byrd (News - Alert), vice president of marketing and product development at Broadvox, said, “We are thoroughly impressed with the advanced functionality and many features that are packaged in Grandstream’s GXE502x all-inone IPPBX.”

He also said that Broadvox’s SIP trunking services combined with Grandstream’s GXE enables delivery of a complete IP communication system to businesses that are looking for the cost savings of SIP Trunking.

“Grandstream’s All-in-1 IPPBX is an excellent solution for small business customers. By combining Grandstream’s equipment and pricing with Excel’s new IP PBX Replacement Program, implementing a VoIP solution becomes affordable for new and existing businesses,” said Steve Weltner, director of product development at Excel Telecommunications (News - Alert).

As part of its announcement, Grandstream officials say that it will offer an upgraded standard 2-year warranty for the GXE502x family effective retroactively.

The updated list price of the GXE5024 and GXE5028 will be $649 and $869 respectively, according to the company. The product is currently available for purchase through Grandstream’s worldwide distribution channel.
