Grandstream, Excel Team on Complete VoIP Solution

By Erik Linask, Group Editorial Director

With the SMB market’s interest in VoIP and other IP-based communications technologies growing by leaps and bounds, the challenge is for solutions vendors and service providers to accommodate this growth without sacrificing service quality.

This, of course, means ensuring quality of product for equipment vendors and software developers, who must ensure their products include converged communications features businesses require. It also means their offerings must be priced for the SMB market, and must be quickly and easily deployed.

Equally important today, with the proliferation of services like SIP Trunking, is interoperability between equipment and services, to ensure new infrastructure works effectively with the services that bridge the technological gap between IP PBXs to the PSTN.

In addition, the ability to provide proven, compatible solutions to customers is becoming a key differentiator in an environment where SMBs look for a complete solution from a single source. Thus, it is imperative for providers and vendors to combine their efforts to succeed.

To increase its ability to penetrate the SMB market with a complete solution, Grandstream Networks has teamed with Excel Telecommunications (News - Alert), a provider of SIP Trunking services. Specifically, Excel has tested and certified Grandstream’s GXP line of IP phones and its GXE502x all-in-one IP PBX (News - Alert) for interoperability with Excel’s network and SIP Trunking capabilities.

With Grandstream’s GXE520x, SMBs — particularly those with 30 seats or fewer — have at their disposal a complete converged communications solutions, including voice, video, and data capabilities, and an affordable appliance. In addition, Grandstream’s GXP series endpoints meet the needs of any business situation, from entry level to executive class, and are designed specifically for use with the Grandstream solution.

Grandstream has developed its solution to meet the unified communications needs of the SMB market, providing unified messaging, application integration, and PBX (News - Alert) functionality, as well as legacy integration, providing a PSTN failover in power failure situations.

With Grandstream’s complete system, combined with Excel’s services, SMBs have a reliable, cost effective solution that does not require them to sacrifice functionality. Instead, they can easily deploy the system and gain the benefits of IP Communications, while continuing to focus their attention on their primary business goals.

“Grandstream’s market leading VoIP products, bundled with competitive SIP trunk services from service providers such as Excel, offers a compelling business phone solution for the SMB market,” said David Li (News - Alert), CEO of Grandstream Networks. “A small business with 10 employees can deploy a complete leading edge IPPBX with 10 IP phones for as little as $1,200, using products and service bundles from Excel Telecommunications and Grandstream today.”
