Annual MetaSwitch Forum Ramping Up for Big April Event

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

Carrier IP communications solutions company MetaSwitch (News - Alert) is gearing up for the bright lights and big city of Las Vegas, as the company prepares for its sixth annual MetaSwitch Forum.

The event takes place from April 6 to April 9, 2009 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

MetaSwitch Forum 2009 is designed to help companies develop a clear roadmap for competitive strategies to build upon and is expected to provide plenty of learning experiences attendees can bring home to their teams. As the California-based company is fond of saying, “What happens in Vegas definitely should NOT stay in Vegas!”

That is because MetaSwitch has mapped out three information-packed days for companies to discover the latest buzz in technology and innovation from an array of speakers, MetaSwitch staff members, partners and fellow attendees.

MetaSwitch is an industry-leading vendor of switching and applications solutions for both packet and circuit-switched networks. Its MetaSphere service delivery platform and applications suite enables a broad set of hosted IP communications services, while its core session control and media/signaling gateway products support a full range of Class 4/5 softswitch capabilities. Customers include many of the world's leading operators of wireline, wireless and cable networks, with deployments that scale to millions of subscribers.

And while the roster of attendees reads like a veritable “Who’s Who” list – keynote speakers include Kevin DeNuccio (News - Alert), vice chairman of Redback Networks, an Ericsson company; and Dennis Huber, chief technology officer at Embarq – MetaSwitch has also included thought provokers outside the industry box by selecting Anthony Zuiker, creator and executive producer of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as a keynote speaker.

There will be plenty of educational opportunities for attendees – the event’s theme after all is “No Limits” – including sessions covering integrating with Asterisk as a PBX (News - Alert) or hosted application server; enhanced services; business issues; IP network migration and operations; major switch migration and much more.

In addition, MetaSwitch is hosting the MetaSwitch Forum 2009 Pre-Conference Workshop hosted by MetaSwitch Training. The workshops will be led by expert instructors and will make sure you come away with the knowledge and tools you need to do your job more effectively.
These workshops are intended for attendees who are:
  • Responsible for deploying or marketing hosted voice services to your customer base
  • Responsible for supporting MetaSwitch / MetaSphere in their network
  • Deploying an IP network in support of VoIP services
  • Already in or going to market with IP-based communications services for SMBs.
There will also be a wide range of technology demonstrations for attendees when no conference are in session.

Event sponsors include Adtran, Occam Networks, Acme Packet, Aastra Telecom, Calix, Cordell (News - Alert) and Polycom.
