Metaswitch Networks, a provider of advanced carrier services and communications software solutions, has just revealed that Chunghwa Telecom (News - Alert), a leader in Taiwan’s mobile, Internet and fixed line services market, will now be deploying the Metaswitch Service Broker.
This collaborative effort will enable Chunghwa to utilize one platform that boasts the ability to deliver services across both its legacy and IMS networks. These services can be delivered to subscribers on any network simultaneously, without any effect to IMS capabilities, a press release stated.
“The evolution of an Intelligent Network service architecture is an important process that we have planned for years,” said Dr. Chen, IN services project manager at Chunghwa Telecom Labs. “Metaswitch was selected after evaluation of a number of solution vendors for both their capabilities and cost. Since the award, we have worked closely with the Metaswitch team in proving out the solution and they have been very helpful in all phases of the project.”
“Tier 1 service providers like Chunghwa face tremendous challenges in service convergence,” said Graeme MacArthur, executive vice president at Metaswitch. “Operators have found that as their network evolves they require a more flexible, cost effective alternative to traditional ‘silo’ application connectivity models. We are pleased to help Chunghwa with this transformation.”
In related news, Metaswitch recently opened regional headquarters in Singapore, which just happens to be one of the busiest trading hubs and largest financial centers in the world. Company officials stated that the new headquarters will support a growing customer and employee base through offering advanced carrier services that will help drive new sales throughout the territory.
