Metaswitch Networks Gain Momentum In Terms Of Revenue, Profitability And Global Growth

Metaswitch Networks, a carrier systems and software solutions provider, had recently released its unaudited results for the financial year 2009 – 2010, showing significant growth in terms of revenue, profitability, and global growth.

An overall growth of 33 percent has been reported, from $113.7 to $134.5 million, and pro EBITDA margins sustained at 20 percent. Metaswitch declares that the acceleration is primarily due to increased investment in innovation as seen in the successful acquisition and integration of AppTrigger, and continued expansion of international customer base, in North America and other key international markets. There are several key points which enabled Metaswitch Networks to achieve this growth, and these can be segregated into three major highlights: corporate, customer, and technology highlights.

Among corporate highlights, the most important were the appointment of Kevin DeNuccio (News - Alert), as the CEO; then receiving the 2010 Queen’s Award for Enterprise for continuous innovation and development. The success of the MetaSphere application server and the complete integration of Metaswitch’s first acquisition AppTrigger, were also appreciated.

Metaswitch now offers its service to more than 65 new carrier customers by successfully tapping into the Latin American market, as well as firm establishment of its Voice over Cable solutions as seen with the deployments by large MSOs including RCN and Knology. It has also continued to strengthen its regional markets, and has added TDS Telecom, SureWest Communications, and Cincinnati Bell (News - Alert), to its list of deployments.

The technology highlights include the participation of more than 1,250 active members in the ever growing Metaswitch Innovators Community. Metaswitch was also the first to deliver the first portable protocol solution to be used for signalling and routing the G.709 Optical Transport Networks “OTN”. By forming partnerships and carrying out deployments at DSM Telecom, Varaha Systems, Starhome (News - Alert) and Celtro, Metaswitch has increased its traction in the mobile service delivery and application market.
