As businesses seek to increase the effectiveness of their employees, many deploying the latest IP-based communications solutions to enable connectivity through multiple devices, so that communications are not severed at any time. While anywhere, any time, any device communications are being considered by many, given the cost and productivity benefits it can introduce into a business environment, let alone convenience, intra-office mobility remains at least as important to the overall success of a business.
Indeed, most employees perform most of their work duties at the office, but they often need to move about the office, from colleague to colleague, or meeting to meeting. Being able to maintain connectivity to the communications system, in these instances, can bring an entirely new level of productivity.
Certainly, a large number of businesses have deployed corporate WiFi
networks to facilitate in-building mobility, but even using a WiFi (News - Alert)-enabled handset means the only thing an individual can do is talk on the phone. But, with a wireless headset that can extend throughout the office, he can now walk anywhere in the office while staying on a call and having two free hands to go about any other business — not the mention the comfort of not having to hold the handset for the duration of the call.
Unfortunately, most wireless headsets have a range of only a few — perhaps ten — meters. But Sennheiser Communications (News - Alert) has now introduced a wireless headset — the BW 900 — that not only can connect with multiple technologies, but has a range of 100 meters.
With the BW 900, users can now make and receive calls anywhere within the office. Also, switching between calls on any deskphone, mobile, or softphone — with Bluetooth
capabilities — can be done with the touch of a single button. Sennheiser’s Adaptive Intelligence technology adds comfort and quality to convenience and functionality by filtering background noise for high quality voice communications. Essentially, Adaptive Intelligence automatically adjusts the headset settings as a user moves within an office environment, creating a rich, clear communications experience for both callers. It also includes a memory feature that remembers and reverts to a user’s personal preferences in certain environments.
With Sennheiser’s latest innovation, employees can now carry on conversations throughout the office, regardless of which device placed or received the call, while leaving their hands free to carry out other tasks. Now, imagine the convenience and productivity that can be attained if you combine the freedoms enabled by the BW 900 with fixed/mobile convergence solutions being deployed at corporations today.
