Dollar Phone has selected Veraz’s session management and security solution for its wholesale transport network.
Security is of prime importance for any modern day network. Companies are fighting possible attacks on their networks with a combination of anti-hacking tools, and strict company policies. Starting with authenticating every user on the network and installing the firewall, and finally monitoring suspicious network traffic that might have skipped all the protection measures.
With a combination of next-generation session border controller (SBC) and the Network-adaptive Border Controller (N-aBC), the solution provided by Veraz Networks (News - Alert) provides security against both TDM and IP based security threats for the core network of Dollar Phone.
Apart from looking to secure its core network from ever evolving threats, Dollar Phone was also looking to maintain high call quality. The company wants to enhance network availability and ensure that mission-critical applications are always available to company customers. Dollar Phone claims that Veraz’s solution provided the best possible security against network attacks and performed well during the trial.
“By deploying Veraz’s next generation security platform, Dollar Phone demonstrates its commitment to providing its customers with innovative and high quality services,” said Araya Hailu, Veraz Vice President Sales, North America.
Hailu continued with, “Veraz Networks is pleased that Dollar Phone has selected the Network–adaptive Border Controller to meet its security requirements and looks forward to continuing to support the company as its business grows.”
Veraz’s N-aBC offers secure interconnection capabilities for both SS7 and SIP services. With the help of N-aBC, multiple endpoints in the network can now have a single point of signaling security management. It also allows security and routing policies to be fully integrated and managed centrally as the N-aBC is built into Veraz’s ControlSwitch softswitch platform.
In November, Veraz Networks had introduced SmartLink, an end-to-end compression solution for Veraz’s I-Gate 4000 media gateways. The company claims that SmartLink allows voice calls to traverse multiple pairs of I-Gate 4000 media gateways without sacrificing voice quality.
