Excel Telecommunications (News - Alert) has selected VIXXI Solutions’ next generation voice over IP (VoIP) E911 network to provide secure E911 routing that helps drive lower operating costs and provide advanced services throughout the United States, according to the companies.
VIXXI Solutions, one of the country’s leading E911 VoIP service providers, will deliver its VIXXI-Link to Excel customers nationwide, according to Steve Weltner, director of product development for Excel Telecommunications.
"VIXXI's E911 solution provides Excel with an ideal partner for serving our commercial SIP Trunking customers," said Weltner. "VIXXI-Link enables our commercial SIP Trunking subscribers to make E911 calls using any U.S. DID and map each DID to a registered physical address, regardless of whether the DID is traditionally linked to the particular PSAP associated with the registered address."
Weltner says the combination of Excel’s carrier-class SIP Trunking bundled service with VIXXI's comprehensive E911 routing is expected to help deliver on the promise of VoIP.
“Now Excel’s commercial SIP Trunking customers can enjoy the cost benefits of VoIP with the flexibility of provisioning any telephone number at any physical location,” he said.
VIXXI-Link includes a Web portal for end-user registration, total ALI management with MSAG validation and ERDB functions, and emergency call routing. It is utilized for expanding CLECs and VoIP service providers, or to convert traditional ILECs’ platforms to IP-based switching infrastructures, avoiding the costs of E911 hookup under the old business models while accommodating new technology subscribers.
VIXXI-Link exceeds suggested standards established by NENA’s NG911 Committee and the IP-Enabled Voice Communications and Public Safety Act of 2007.
"We are very pleased to have a top-tier company such as Excel select VIXXI-Link as their preferred solution," said Richard A. Peters (News - Alert), president of VIXXI Solutions. "This will allow Excel’s customers to receive E911 services in a very short timeframe.”
