To be or not to be...NFV

Thursday March 24, 2016
TIME: 10:00am ET/ 3:00pm Europe/ 7:00am PT

Network Functional Virtualization (NFV) promises operators the nirvana of a ubiquitous cloud allowing disparate features to be orchestrated to create new services for use by themselves and external partners/customers. It allows the reduction of cost and operational overhead by providing a consolidated hardware and operating environment for multiple vendors’ software solutions to run and be managed as a cohesive unit, and promises faster ways of deploying new services.

However with all evolutions, the final stages come from lots of smaller steps to move towards the eventual goal and there are many questions that operators have of which steps to take first.  Some of the nirvana will be achieved, some may be given up on the way to the reality of what the market really needs and what is useful from a technical perspective and it will take time.  What are the myths and reality of what an NFV environment can provide in the shorter term and what it will likely look like in the future?

What attendees will learn:
Xura has a front line view of the various approaches operators are taking to adopt the NFV concept for their messaging infrastructure. Join us as we explore these approaches, such as service consolidation, service routing, and API enablement, and look at the myths and reality of what is occurring with NFV solutions of today and tomorrow.

The webinar will provide you with knowledge on:

  • How to de-risk the move to NFV by choosing services and steps that can be taken.
  • What will orchestrated services really provide and how can they be plugged together?
  • Some of the realities of what is occurring within the market with NFV.

Who should attend?
Anyone responsible for NFV strategy and plans within a Network Operator.
