Over the past couple of decades, there have been revolutionary changes in the way we conduct business and communicate at a personal level. However, the way we communicate at work has not kept pace with these profound changes.

Today, 75 percent of businesses in the U.S. have mobile employees. Yet many companies still rely on on-premise phone systems that were built for the 1980s work environment when everyone came into the office and relied solely on desk phones. These archaic systems are simply obsolete. They do not enable employees and customers to communicate in the ways they prefer and are used to in their personal lives. And these systems do not work seamlessly with the smartphones, tablets, apps and laptops employees carry in their pockets and handbags and use everyday.

For example, with the desk phone, if employees are working remotely, they must call into their office phone to forward calls or give customers and vendors their personal cell phone number. They cannot simply give out one business number for voice, fax and text and have it seamlessly connect to whatever device they are using, wherever they are. Likewise, they cannot easily send texts to customers or colleagues from their business number when they are running late, see LinkedIn information pop up simultaneously when a potential customer calls nor record the call and have it automatically filed in Salesforce.

Yet, all of this is possible with a cloud-based phone system.

In this session sponsored by RingCentral, a leading cloud business phone system provider, TMCnet’s cloud telephony expert Paula Bernier will moderate a discussion with Naveen Gupta, RingCentral’s chief product officer, and Joe Ballarino with Amerivest Realty. They will discuss the current and future state of work and business communications, the benefits of RingCentral’s cloud phone solution versus alternatives and the confluence of megatrends that are driving more businesses to move their phone systems to the cloud.

In this webinar, you will learn:
  • What the New World of Work looks like compared to a decade ago
  • How businesses of all sizes are benefitting from cloud business communications
  • What challenges companies face when deciding on a business phone system
  • How business communications will evolve to meet new communication needs
