The Myth of Plug and Play — Let’s get real about what it takes to build software for the enterprise

It’s everywhere — read any website that pitches software and you’ll hear marketing exhortations about how it’s “easy to install”, “plug and play”, or how you can “drop in a module and it will immediately link to your existing apps”. Let’s be honest. That’s not true. In fact, if enterprise software was that easy to install, then several Fortune 500 companies wouldn’t be in business now.

Truth is, if software is “plug and play” what that really means is that it works with a limited number of applications and contains a limited number of rules that are pre-defined and can’t be changed.

In enterprise services management, there is no such thing as “pre-defined”. There are too many ERP, CRM, Financial and HR applications that services must pull and push data. Each business is different and terms and conditions can vary within a corporation by customer, product or geography. Let’s talk about what it really takes to design and install a real enterprise services relationship system.

What Attendees will learn:

  • What you need to do and know before your buy Service Relationship Software
  • How to ask the right questions to your vendors
  • What is the best alternative to “plug and play”

Who should attend:

  • IT Decision makers in Services Organizations
  • CIOs
  • CSOs
