ReCellular (News - Alert) Inc. is the world's foremost collector, reseller and recycler of used cell phones and accessories has announced that they have entered into a partnership with Oregon-based Consumer Cellular for a new program that will benefit Dorenbecher Children’s Hospital which is the oldest full-service children’s hospital in Oregon.
Consumer Cellular is one of the oldest and largest mobile virtual network operators of cellular phone service in the United States and specializes in meeting the underserved needs of individual consumers who are looking for the benefits of cellular service (safety and convenience) but have only causal usage needs and thus do not want to pay the high monthly fees associated with traditional carrier price plans.
Consumer Cellular is also one of the few post-paid wireless providers that do not require a long-term contract with their service. The company is designed to make the service and customer experience simple and is a privately held company and is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.
Doernbecher Children's Hospital is the first full-service children's hospital in Oregon. It offers a full-spectrum of pediatric care for hospitalized children. More than 155,000 children visit the hospital annually. They are mostly from Oregon, Southwest Washington, and surrounding states. The funds raised through this program will support the greatest area of need which would be decided by the hospital staff.
The cell phone recycling program features a unique pre-paid, take home mailer that allows Consumer Cellular customers to mail their used and/or unwanted cell phones directly to ReCellular for recycling or reuse. The customers can also drop their cell phones in on-site collection boxes of Consumer Cellular.
