Dell Looks to Environmentally Conscious for Creation of World's Most Green Computer
By Stefania Viscusi,
TMCnet Assistant Editor

With a goal of creating "the worlds most environmentally responsible computing technology," Dell (News - Alert) has called on the environmentally conscious to help their engineers with design ideas and solutions.

As part of their commitment to becoming the greenest technology company on the planet, Dell is looking to The ReGeneration, " people of all ages who share a goal of protecting the Earth" and has announced "The ReGeneration: International Green Computing Technology Design Competition."

As part of the challenge, Dell is asking for innovative ideas and solutions for green computing technology and is hoping to open dialogue around environmentally responsible computing designs along with Industrial Designers Society of America, who is endorsing the competition.

"Dell is committed to partnering with the ReGeneration," said Ken Musgrave, director of Dell's Experience Design Group. "We want the best ideas from design students, computer enthusiasts and others to help technology protect our environment."

Competition details are now available on www.dell.com/regeneration

Dell has been making "Green" headlines with the launch of a new recycling service for SMBs that helps strengthen SMB environmental responsibilities, the introduction of new Green products like the ultra-mobile Latitude D430 notebook and Precision M4300 mobile workstation, and the announcement to go carbon neutral and become, "the first major computer manufacturer to commit to neutralizing the carbon impact of its worldwide operations."
