The cloud is a hot topic these days, leaving many IT decision makers wondering whether the benefits are really worth the transition or if on-premises deployments are still the reliable route. The consistently increasing number of cloud deployments in everything from data backup to workforce management shows the advantages must be more than just hype.

Current workforce management solutions have advanced analytics capabilities that enable call center managers to forecast with a higher degree of accuracy of how many agents will be needed for a shift, which is important because balancing the number of agents with call volume is the primary way of keeping call center operating costs down. More recently, companies have discovered that the cloud-based model of workforce management delivery has a lot of pros over the traditional hosted model.

Organizations around the globe across a broad range of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, public sector, retail and hospitality, and distribution are deploying their workforce management solutions in the Kronos (News - Alert) Cloud. In fact, worldwide revenue for the Kronos Cloud has increased 67 percent since the beginning of 2012.

Tens of thousands of organizations in over 100 countries use Kronos Inc., a global provider of workforce management solutions, to control labor costs, minimize compliance risk and improve workforce productivity. With more than 6,000 organizations already successfully leveraging the Kronos Cloud, the company is actually transforming the workforce management market into a cloud computing environment.

“The Kronos Cloud not only transforms the way organizations access their workforce management solutions, it also allows them to implement their workforce goals faster - for accelerated adoption and a rapid return on investment,” said Chris Todd, senior vice president of professional services, Kronos, in a statement.

It generates a fast return on investment while alleviating the need to invest in additional infrastructure and staff. Regardless of size, all types of organizations can benefit from cloud computing. For SMBs, Workforce Ready provides an easy way to track employee time, administer payroll and HR services in the Kronos Cloud. For large enterprises, Workforce Central provides deep functionality for time and attendance, labor tracking, advanced scheduling, analytics, and absence management.

Longtime Kronos customers such as Aztec Shops, Ltd. and Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, recently transitioned from an onsite deployment o the Kronos Cloud. Both organizations cite financial and operational benefits of transitioning to the Kronos Cloud including freeing up of IT resources to focus on strategic products, and the peace of mind knowing that they maintain control of their workforce management functions while Kronos ensures that their workforce management solution runs smoothly.

Todd continued, “Kronos is driving a workforce management transformation into the cloud. The cloud is the fastest-growing part of our business.”
