Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Wireless Headset Wins INTERNET TELEPHONY 2006 Product of the Year Award
February 20, 2007
When it comes to phone headset manufacturers, Plantronics (News - Alert) is definitely a household name. Nowhere is it more clear why this should be so than in the area of wireless, Bluetooth
headsets. The company has come out with some pretty innovative products in recent months—for busy professionals, call centers, and home users.
Take the Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth headset, for example. This product, designed for on-the-go businesspeople, uses a USB Bluetooth adapter for instant, wireless access to softphones. This lets the user switch seamlessly between a softphone and a mobile phone. A single headset that works with both a mobile phone and a softphone definitely is innovative. So much so, in fact, that Voyager 510 recently won an INTERNET TELEPHONY 2006 Product of the Year Award.
Each year, INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine editors bestow Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated vision, leadership and attention to detail.
“The Product of the Year awards exemplifies the best that this industry has to offer,” said TMC (News - Alert) Editorial Director Greg Galitzine, in a statement. “The companies earning this distinction have demonstrated a commitment to quality and the further development of the IP
telephony industry through their contributions.
For helping consumers and business users realize the full benefits of IP telephony technology, Plantronics definitely falls into the group of distinctive companies Galitzine describes.
Here are a few other features of the Voyager 510-USB that landed Plantronics this award:
-
Remote notification of incoming calls via the headset
-
Ability to answer/end calls from the headset
-
Noise-canceling microphone with WindSmart technology
-
Roughly six hours of talk time on a single charge
-
Roaming
up to 33 feet from Bluetooth device -
AC and USB charging from a PC
