Canadian-based Accedian Networks (News - Alert) has appointed Scott Sumner as Vice President of Marketing. Sumner will be taking charge of company’s marketing communications, public relations, eMarketing, advertising and brand.
Accedian Networks is a provider of Packet Performance Assurance solutions which provides wireless operators, service providers and cable MSOs to deliver carrier-grade, packet-based applications including VoIP, IPTV (News - Alert), video-conferencing and transparent LAN services over Ethernet, IP/MPLS, and wireless 3G / 4G / WiMAX (News - Alert) networks.
Scott has Masters and Bachelor degrees in Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He completed his professional business management training at the John Molson School of Business, the Alliance Institute, and the Project Management Institute.
Scott has prior experience in senior marketing, product management and business development positions, in a number of leading telecom-focused companies. He has worked as VP of Marketing at Minacom (News - Alert) (acquired by Tektronix in 2006), as Director of Marketing at Aethera Networks, as Partnership Program Manager at EXFO, as well as project and engineering management roles at PerkinElmer Optoelectronics and MPB Communications.
Scott has many patents and conference papers on telecommunications technology to his credit and has also participated in numerous acquisitions and industry partnerships.An article was published recently by Scott Sumner, on deploying wireless backhaul over cable networks, in the January issue of Broadband Gear Report.
