Indiagames Chooses CommerceTel's CallForContent to Distribute 'The Office' Games

By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Associate Editor

Mobile technology specialist CommerceTel announced Tuesday that its CallForContent system is being used by Indiagames to distribute a series of six mobile games based on NBC’s hit TV show The Office.

The games, licensed through an agreement with Universal Mobile Entertainment, currently are available to Verizon, Cingular, and Amp’d subscribers, and soon will be added to Sprint and T-Mobile as well.

“CommerceTel's CallForContent is the fastest and most efficient way to get mobile content into the hands and phones of mobile users,” explained Indiagames Vice President Sean Malatesta, in a statement.

Here’s how CallForContent works: users dial a 10-digit, toll-free number, which provides access to an automated system for downloading the games. The selections are sent directly to the user’s phone, and applicable charges are added onto the user’s wireless bill.

“This extremely simple and user-friendly process will very positively impact download rates, we are sure,” Malatesta said.

The games feature character from The Office participating in various cubical antics such as wasketball, paper-football (aka hateball), table-top gold, office paper war, and chair racing.
