Bradon Technologies CEO Discusses Benefits of Web Meeting Tool, SAViiDesk

By Michelle Robart, TMCnet Editor

Bradon Technologies, a company committed to developing the world’s most advanced Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications platform has taken Web-based meetings and online collaboration to the next level with its flagship product, SAViiDesk.

With SAViiDesk, businesses can leverage the power of the Internet to meet, present and collaborate in a cost-effective manner from anywhere in the world, without having to dial in from a landline phone for the audio portion. In addition to transmitting audio and sharing desktop material such as Power Point presentations, a video feed of the presenter can be included using a simple video cam device. Thanks to proprietary “BTAC” audio codec technology, the synchronization between the audio and video feeds is in real-time; thereby eliminating the lag time distractions associated with competitive products.

Although meetings can be held 100 percent using VoIP technology in a one-to-many environment, a SAViiDesk event can be joined using a landline or mobile device for those who require flexibility. A toll free number is provided with every event.

Bradon’s most recent initiative for SAViiDesk is a working partnership with Research in Motion (News - Alert) (RIM), to allow the application to be run directly from Bold or Storm Blackberry models. With this innovation, an entire event can be hosted or joined with ultimate Blackberry mobility, due to SAViiDesk’s tiny footprint for downloading purposes.

Technology Marketing Corporation recently had a chance to test SAViiDesk with the Owner and CEO of Bradon Technologies, Joe Compta. After the trial, Compta was able to answer some questions about the innovative Web conferencing solution. Our exchange follows.

TMCnet: What exactly is your flagship product, SAViiDesk?

JC: SAViiDesk is an easy-to-use Web conferencing platform that leverages the power of VoIP technology in delivering combined audio, video and desktop presentations. By providing global accessibility through any combination of computers, mobile devices and landline telephones, it gives businesses the ability to cut down on travel expenses without sacrificing the quality and frequency of their interactions with customers, partners, and internal departments.

TMCnet: Explain some of the main features and benefits of SAViiDesk.

JC: Bradon’s proprietary BTAC audio codec is the data compression engine behind SAViiDesk that eliminates the lag time between voice and video data streams, which results in professional presentations that can be archived and replayed on demand. When combined with multiple accessibility options, a unique drag-and-drop toolbar interface and tiny footprint for downloading, SAViiDesk is changing the landscape for what’s possible in Web-based communications.

Companies are looking for ways to save money without sacrificing on quality; they want innovative ways to interact with customers and partners to support revenue generation; and they want to facilitate inter-company collaboration, brainstorming and training, all while increasing employee productivity. SAViiDesk supports all of these initiatives.

TMCnet: How does SAViiDesk compare to competing Web meeting software solutions such as WebEx?

JC: The biggest difference between SAViiDesk and other Web meeting solutions is that SAViiDesk was developed from the ground up as a VoIP platform using proprietary audio compression technology. Products such as WebEx have added VoIP technology as a secondary consideration in order to compete in an ever-changing marketplace. These products don’t compare with SAViiDesk in terms of voice quality and real-time audio & video synchronization essentially because their go-to market strategy is to bolt inferior VoIP technologies onto older Web conferencing platforms.  As an example, larger application footprints create a serious limitation for download-ability onto mobile devices, which is the direction the industry is rapidly moving toward.

TMCnet: What is involved in getting started with SAViiDesk?

JC: To get started with SAViiDesk, participants click on an invitation link and download a very small application or client (418kb), which takes seconds.

TMCnet: How is SAViiDesk easier to use then other Web meeting solutions?

JC: SAViiDesk utilizes a compact, drag-and-drop toolbar that sits on top of any open application. Participants can position the toolbar and floating window displays of presentation material and streaming video wherever they like on their desktop. For this reason, participants can check email, for example, and view the host’s presentation without toggling back and forth.

TMCnet: Explain some of the tool bar options and how users will find them to be helpful when using SAViiDesk.

JC: SAViiDesk’s drag-and-drop, compact toolbar gives access to functionality such as the ability to archive meetings for playback at a later date; muting or un-muting microphones; activating the video control panel; and using the resizable frame option to transmit only a selected portion of the host’s desktop. The host can also give and take presentation rights to and from participants using the toolbar.

As the reliance on mobility continues to increase, the benefits of online meeting solutions such as SAViiDesk will only become more apparent. In addition, if gas and travel prices creep back up this summer, people will start seeking new ways to conduct business without having to leave their office space. Bradon Technologies is ahead of the curve with its innovative online collaboration tools and is constantly working on new ways to drive the adoption of Web-based communication technology.
