Web conferencing solutions provider Packetel, Inc., recently became one of RHUB Communications’ new U.S-based channel partners. In the process, Packetel enhanced its Web conferencing solutions with a software engine from RHUB.

 

This deal was made with growth of the Web conferencing market in mind. In announcing the partnership, the companies involved quoted Wainhouse Research analyst Andy Nilssen as saying that the market for Web conferencing solutions is slated to grow from $1 billion in 2006 to nearly $1.5 billion in 2010.

 

“Fueling this growth is the expansion of web conferences beyond scheduled to ad-hoc meetings,” Nilssen said in a statement. “This requires users to have access to a Web conferencing resource that is on tap at all times with little-to-no incremental cost per use.”

 

TurboMeeting, and other solutions offered by Packetel, fit the bill nicely. Packetel’s TurboMeeting, for example, combines multiple applications (conferencing, remote access, seminars) to extend real-time collaboration beyond conventional Web conferencing solutions.

 

“We are truly impressed by the lightning fast ‘View Only’ mode that RHUB’s TurboMeeting 3.2 provides,” commented Benedict Tse, CTO of Packetel, in a statement. He added that the software engine from RHUB offers speedy, no-installation-needed, browser-based functionality.
