Riverbed Technology has announced that it's participating in EMC World Boston 2010, and demonstrating wide area network optimization solutions, as well as discussing role of WAN optimization in EMC replication environments.


Working in conjunction with EMC , Riverbed (News - Alert) has obtained EMC qualification for its Steelhead appliances to work with EMC Symmetrix Remote Data Facility/Asynchronous (SRDF/A).

Company official said that with EMC (News - Alert) E-Lab qualification, joint customers can deploy Riverbed WAN optimization solutions into their largest data centers. In addition, they can also reduce bandwidth requirements associated with protecting more data.

Also, Steelhead appliances have obtained EMC E-Lab qualification for MirrorView/A, Celerra Replicator, SAN Copy, DMX and V-Max, according to company officials.

Leveraging Riverbed WAN optimization, enterprises can improve remote and mobile employee productivity, enable private clouds and provide enterprise-wide network and application visibility, said company officials.

Riverbed is the IT performance company. The company's family of WAN optimization solutions liberates businesses from common IT constraints by increasing application performance, enabling consolidation, and providing enterprise-wide network and application visibility -- all while eliminating the need to increase bandwidth, storage or servers.

Earlier last month, Verizon (News - Alert) Business said that it's adding Riverbed Technology WAN optimization solution to its Managed WAN Optimization Services portfolio. Also in April, McAfee (News - Alert) announced partnership with Riverbed to deliver comprehensive security and wide area network optimization solution for organizations with remote offices.
