Recently, Colt Technology Services, a company that operates in 22 European countries with a 46,000km European network and transatlantic network capacity, has installed Radisys’ Integrated Conferencing Solution, along with its SIPware Conferencing Application Software and CMS-9000 Media Resource Function (MRF).
This new deployment will help Colt to offer Colt Audio Conferencing and Cisco (News - Alert) Webex services to its wide spread customers in Europe.
The Radisys integrated conferencing solution leverages the cost-efficiencies of IP-based, overseas networks and implements least-cost routing algorithms to determine the lowest cost interconnection between nodes.
Many of the conferencing service providers today look out for a solution that is capable of delivering the cost benefits of IP-based long distance communication, while enabling high-quality audio, advanced control and usability features. Radisys claims to satisfy these requirements with an offering that outshined in a number of areas, including economics, flexibility and differentiation opportunities.
Radisys’ Integrated Conferencing Solution is backed by IP Multimedia Subsystem (News - Alert) (IMS) architecture, allowing native support of any VoIP endpoint. This feature enables conference participants using traditional phones to get connected to the PSTN to interconnect with the Radisys Integrated Conferencing Solution using gateway equipment in the Colt network.
This technology helps users to enjoy crystal-clear, High Definition (HD) capable audio conferencing services for both VoIP and TDM endpoints and devices.
“Conferencing and collaboration continue to grow in importance and usage with our business customers. This growth led to our search for an economic and flexible platform to continue expanding our business, and Radisys’ solution met all of our requirements,” said Luke Broome, chief technology officer, Colt Technology Services. “We are confident that Radisys’ Integrated Conferencing Solution will drive ‘minutes of use’ growth while delivering operational savings.”
Colt is also using Radisys’ SIPware Reservationless Conferencing release 4.4 features including easy-to-use self-service portals, Cisco WebEx integration for web conferencing, along with Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook integration.
“Radisys is pleased to be selected for Colt’s next-generation conferencing platform, and to see the deployment of our SIPware Reservationless Conferencing Release 4.4 to help Colt pursue new growth opportunities with a flexible solution to meet their customers’ needs,” said Grant Henderson, vice president, marketing and product management, Radisys.
