For many enterprises, hosted VoIP has the potential to simplify communications and IT infrastructure and to provide reduced rates through a provider’s IP and partner peering networks.

 

But, hosted VoIP is not perfect in all cases. In particular, service quality can be inconsistent. One way service providers can speed adoption of hosted VoIP is by offering service level agreements (SLAs), guaranteeing the quality and availability of their services.

 

What’s needed to deliver on SLAs is the topic of a session titled “Service Quality Testing & Monitoring for Managed & Hosted Enterprise VoIP,” to be held at Internet Telephony Conference and EXPO West (San Diego, Oct. 10-13, 2006). Presenter Scott Sumner, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Minacom, will outline the obstacles facing hosted VoIP services, and the monitoring and troubleshooting techniques providers can use to manage service quality.

 

The session will be held October 10, 2006 from 2:15 to 3:00 p.m.

 

Sumner will focus on per-client partitioning and reporting as he discusses scaleable active and passive testing approaches—using examples of typical hosted/managed VoIP deployments as illustrations.
