Tektronix (News - Alert), a provider of VoIP
test solutions and other measurement/monitoring instruments, recently received the Technology & Engineering Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for “Real-time Transport Stream Monitoring for ATSC & DVB
Conformance.”
The award has been given in recognition of the contribution of Tektronix for MPEG-2 Transport Stream monitoring and analysis. This is the seventh time the company has received the Emmy award.
According to Tektronix, MPEG-2 is a key technology in the new digital world with products widely used in a variety of content delivery and consumer electronics applications. operators, and other facilities supporting content delivery worldwide.
Company officials explained that networks, distribution channels, terrestrial DTV stations and consumers benefit from this technology by receiving MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compressed television programs for viewing.
Claiming that Tektronix has been and continues to be a pioneer in the television and video industries, Arif Kareem, vice president of video product line at Tektronix, said in a statement, “We are honored to once again be selected for a Technology & Engineering Emmy Award, this time for contributions to MPEG-2 transport stream monitoring and analysis.”
