GENBAND (News - Alert) has been chosen to localize regional Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) traffic and optimize bandwidth usage for regional carriers of Millenicom Turkey.
To this end, the company has delivered its global IP Interconnect solution to Millenicom Turkey, which provides telecommunications services to more than 80 operators across the globe.
Millenicom aims to transform its network to a large-scale next-generation infrastructure, and this deployment is the first step in its long-term strategy.
GENBAND’s IP Interconnect solution includes the QUANTiX Session Border Controller (SBC) and is delivered through a partnership with Verscom Solutions.
Verscom has been contracted to supply and deploy GENBAND’s QUANTiX SBCs to service providers throughout the region.
GENBAND’s QUANTiX SBC’s reduces operational complexity with its smart session management technology. The solution is deployed globally and simplifies the network edge by securely managing, routing and controlling real-time voice and multimedia sessions.
“GENBAND’s enhanced technology simplifies IP peering and provides us with carrier-class metrics and operational visibility for our network, allowing us to deliver superior service quality as well as unsurpassed security, scalability and call capacity,” said Ugur Ozgiray, voice network operations director for Millenicom.
GENBAND provides smart networking solutions for service providers and enterprises in over 80 countries. The company was in news earlier this month when it sponsored the Real Time Communications Community at TMCnet.
This community is ideal for service providers and enterprises that are searching information related to real-time communications.
"We are pleased to join forces with TMC (News - Alert), a leader of communications and technology media, to sponsor a community where visitors can learn more about the increasingly important role that Real Time Communications is playing in our industry as well as others," said Brad Bush (News - Alert), chief marketing officer at GENBAND.
