Optus Launches ipPhone Express for Wholesale Customers

Optus (News - Alert), a provider of communications, entertainment and information technology services, recently announced the launch of ipPhone Express, an advanced Voice over IP (VoIP) application that can be seamlessly accessed via a conventional handset, IP phone or soft-phone infrastructure on the PC. The product is being offered for the first time via Optus Wholesale, creating new revenue streams for the company’s existing resellers as well as new and emerging cloud-resellers.
In a statement, Robert Parcell, managing director at Optus Wholesale and Satellite said, “An over-the-top cloud-based voice solution that allows resellers to transfer customers from competitors and keep their ‘all important’ landline number is a key differentiator for Optus and a very exciting proposition for our wholesale partners. Optus ipPhone Express delivers a new revenue stream for new customers with the added advantage of being backed by Optus service and support teams. This means resellers can be assured their customers will receive the highest quality of care when needed – a stark differentiator from other free and global VoIP providers in the market.”
The new solution is designed to enable customers to migrate from their existing service providers without having to change their number. The company expects huge interest in the product as resellers being to explore the opportunities provided by the national broadband network (NBN).
Optus Wholesale ipPhone Express also offers national, local, fixed to mobile and international calling options with the cost-effective calling plans and lower rentals. Using the embedded personal Web agent, users can make changes to the service offering, including contact list management and call forwarding features.
