Italtel (News - Alert), a provider of next generation network and services solutions including VoIP switches, IT system integration and network migration services, has formed a partnership with Tieto, an IT firm specializing in providing services for building and maintaining IT systems, in order to provide a turnkey solution to Polish operator TK Telecom.
The partnership focuses on deploying an IT and network solution for TK Telekom. The service includes completion and partial replacement of the current network and implementation of the Intelligent Network (IN) platform to provide new services for individual and business clients.
Tieto and Italtel will work together to enable TK Telekom to optimize its network resources management and deliver advanced telecom services such as triple play services (Internet, television and telephony in one) and IP interconnection between telecom operators.
Moreover, Tieto will provide the Intelligent Network (IN) platform that operates in line with the logic of the connection service based on JAIN SLEE technology and its own SS7 protocol stack.
On the other hand, Italtel will provide a C4/C5 platform based on the Italtel Multimedia Communication Suite (i-MCS 2.0) solution. The platform allows for the delivery of narrowband and broadband services to individual and business clients as well as Netmatch-M, the Italtel's media and signaling gateway.
Netmatch-M belongs to the Italtel's Netmatch family, which powers the transformation from media gateway to border gateway, allowing telco operators to migrate smoothly from TDM to IP interconnections.
"We believe that flexibility and in-depth knowledge of Tieto and Italtel will enable TK Telekom to achieve those goals easily and effectively leveraging on this partnership. Looking ahead, we strongly believe that cooperation, such as with Tietoand Italtel, is nowadays a key factor in developing value based products and services for our customers,” said Przemyslaw Kuna, head of the telecommunication branch at TK Telekom, in a statement.
The partnership also will help Tieto become a competence center for consulting and implementing Italtel systems, according to Zbigniew Dlugosz, sales department director at Tieto Poland.
“Our clients in Poland will be able to benefit from additional solutions in the scope of access to broadband Internet network, IP telecom or highly efficient HD quality image and sound transmission,” Dlugosz added. “What is more, part of the said solutions will be accessible in SaaS (News - Alert) (Software- as-a-Service) model service.”
