Tadiran (News - Alert) Telecom, a provider of telecommunications products such as IP PBXs, VoIP switches, IP phones and contact centers, has launched a new unified communications and collaboration solution that consolidates disparate business applications into a single communications platform.

The system has been designed to grow and adapt intelligently to changing customer needs. It is bundled with applications that include powerful contact center solutions and UC&C applications. It can be deployed in a private cloud environment or as an on-premise solution.

"Aeonix was designed to intuitively address current and future challenges in enterprise communications," said Eldad Barak, president and CEO of Tadiran Telecom, in a statement. "The unique versatility and scalability of Aeonix allows customers to retain and optimize legacy investments while growing and adapting seamlessly to future needs.”

The solution utilizes the latest server-based softswitch technologies and features robust fault tolerance, an open architecture, and an intuitive management interface.

Touted as a Linux-based solution, Aeonix supports open protocols such as SIP (unmodified), CSTA, and Web services. It integrates with a variety of common applications and boasts the ability to add user-specific devices to the system. In addition, this offering is highly scalable, so customer networks can be extended based on their changing needs.

Further, Aeonix features an open architecture that allows customers the flexibility to buy and install only what they currently need, and to add users, remote locations and additional applications as they become necessary, by just acquiring software licenses.

An Aeonix system can consist of one or many distributed servers, with each server providing 100 percent application functionality, the company said. Aeonix automated network diagnostics and recovery mechanisms deliver an ultra high level of fault tolerance and resilience.

Customers are logical entities in the system for which invoices will be generated. They may be termination partners, resellers of a service, or a virtual .

Tariffs and Rates
Tariff is logical entity in the system, which represents rules for rating and billing calls made by Account or Customer to which this Tariff has been assigned.

Balance and Credit Limit
In addition to Tariff, each Customer or Account, except Root Customer, has those two basic rating/billing parameters associated with it – Balance and Credit Limit.

On-Net Routing
On-Net Routing is the feature that allows placing calls from one account in the system to another account in the system.

Ability to Charging On-Net (Account-to-Account) Calls
In some cases it might be necessary to charge either caller or callee or both for the on-net call based on per-minute rate.

Automatic Database Backup
The Softswitch includes the system which allows performing automatic backup of the database periodically.

Ability to Get exchange rate using external script
Exchange rates can be set using external custom script.
