Speek, a web-based teleconferencing system, has announced that Mathew Nolan has been appointed as the company’s Developer Community Manager. Apart from inspiring interest from the public, Nolan will be also responsible for building a community of developers for the Speek platform.

Speek has developed a web-based Voice API. Connection to any platform is possible as the Voice API can dial out to cell phones, landlines, and VOIP applications.

A strong proponent of open source technology and web standards, Nolan is a seasoned front-end web developer with more than 10 years of experience, including working with Disney, Coca-Cola, Nike, Chrysler, and AT&T (News - Alert).

According to Andrew Powers, Chief Executive Officer and chief monkey at Speek, everyone at the organization is thrilled to have Nolan join Speek, adding that the organization’s business will be greatly complemented by Nolan’s experience and skills.

In a release, Powers said, "As Speek's open Voice API rapidly advances to enable more and more applications with the power of speech and additional features, it is fundamental that we continue to hire talented individuals such as Matt to help us achieve our goals."

Nolan worked as an application engineer for Flite, a top online advertising platform, before joining Speek. Nolan has studied user experience, interface design, and interactive media at the Design + Technology department of the San Francisco Art Institute.

Organizations across the world are able to leverage the potential of voice with the API, therefore building relationships with their customers by create engaging, interactive applications. Speek has more than 400,000 users.
