Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) solutions allows for phone calls to travel over the Internet as data, just as email does. This type of service can dramatically lower personal or enterprise’s telecommunication costs while increasing productivity. It also provides useful features and capabilities that conventional phone technology does not offer.
Teo is a unified communications organization that helps enterprises communicate more effectively by offering various VoIP solutions. For example, Teo has developed a User Portal, which allows users to connect from anywhere in the word to view and manage their call log. According to Teo, users can retrieve and play voicemails, implement call recordings, send and receive faxes, schedule and invite others to conference calls, and manage presence- and schedule-based call routing rules.
Teo has also enhanced what it calls, “Intelligent Presence,” which is a VoIP solution that has been around for a while that allows users to connect with one another online instantly via AIM or Instant Messenger. However, the company has recently made some feature enhancements.
“The idea of presence is not an entirely new one, but the way it has been implemented so far is not all that useful. While other vendors allow all the devices you use to publish a presence status, it really is not that useful to know that you logged out of a word document, or made a call on your desk phone. What is important is your presence status,” said Teo. Now users have the ability to change their presence status and view others from any of their Teo devices.
Another new feature is the Intelligent Presence program’s call service. Teo has changed the VoIP program to allow the phone to ring when you are available or be sent to a co-worker, assistant, or voicemail when you are away. The calls can even be screened to allow the user to determine if they feel like taking the call or rerouting it.
“Teo’s advanced presence engine allows you to know who is available at all times. This reduces voicemail and phone tag (News - Alert) which streamlines problem resolution for customers, and accelerates project completion,” company officials revealed.
Teo’s other VoIP solutions include: a conference scheduler, which helps setup multiple calls; invitations through email and attachments all from the computer; a virtual fax machine; a 911 alert notification system, which will notify everyone in the office if someone has made a 911 call; a fully functional administration dashboard that provides one screen full of company and Internet related data and usage, dial plan management, reports, and so on.
Teo has really worked hard to enhance VoIP solutions and create a suite of programs designed to improve productivity, streamline the workday, and help simply manage both employees and clients.
