By the year 2016, it has been predicted, mobile VoIP solutions will earn approximately $36 billion in annual revenues, largely due to the rising demands from consumers who want to have access to communications solutions while on-the-go.
The increasingly popular trend and rapid growth of smartphones is another factor behind the rise of mobile VoIP that will be seen in the near future."There has been a steady increase in the number of successful partnerships between VoIP vendors and mobile operators to deploy mobile VoIP services," a statement by Visiongain (News - Alert) revealed in a Telappliant article.
This dramatic statistic come on the heels of recently conducted study from research firm IDC (News - Alert) which shows that many small and medium-sized businesses are investing in unified communication technologies, including VoIP phone systems, video conferencing solutions and unified messaging technologies.
TMCnet reported that the small business VoIP market is growing quickly, with over 30 percent of firms with 100-999 employees utilizing some type of VoIP technology. The firm also found that more than one-third of small businesses – and nearly three-quarters of medium-sized businesses – currently utilize a minimum of one UC technology. These numbers will continue to grow, as more than 30 percent of small organizations and 55 percent of midsize companies have plans to buy at least one UC-related system in the next year.
"SMBs are interested in both underlying capabilities and specific UC technologies," Justin Jaffe, a research manager at IDC, commented in a statement. "The real challenge for vendors is to effectively connect the benefits of unified communications to improved business performance. Show how UC can make a real difference in productivity and efficiency and SMBs will flock to it."
As time passes, more employees are requesting to work in a flexible environment that allows them to correlate their life around their work, thus creating a work-life balance that is effective for the employee as well as the employer. Thomas Beck, director of marketing & business development at Teo, stated in a recent blog post that employers who wish to increase employee satisfaction can make use of a cost-effective telecommuting program by simply investing in a UC system.
