ATLANTIC-ACM Reveals VoIP Reseller Satisfaction Rising, Pricing Declining

VoIP reseller products are getting pretty mixed reviews, as strategic consulting and research services company ATLANTIC-ACM revealed in its 2010 Metro Carrier Report Card that VoIP reseller quality has improved more than other wholesale telecommunications products on the market, but has declined in terms of price competitiveness.



Based on upwards of 1,600 individual carrier evaluations, the study revealed that even though wholesale buyers’ satisfaction levels with VoIP reseller solutions has improved, pricing pressure caused a major drop in value.

Dr. Judy Reed Smith (News - Alert), CEO of Atlantic-ACM, elaborated on the results:  “Declines in VoIP pricing satisfaction are largely a matter of expectation. Wholesale buyers acknowledge that VoIP quality has greatly improved, but they expected VoIP pricing to decline at a faster rate than it has. In contrast, carriers report continued VoIP pricing pressure even as they have achieved these higher ratings for quality.”

Wholesalers and performance levels were evaluated by their customers for the latest version of the report, which examined trends in products and their likeliness to strengthen or weaken in price in 2011.

ATLANTIC-ACM kept a close look on Ethernet backhaul opportunities for wholesale telecommunications carriers for its recent whitepaper, “Ethernet Wireless Backhaul: The Evolving Opportunity,” which provided customers’ evaluations of how to “improve operations, customer touchpoints, product quality and pricing.” Based on in-depth statistics and data, the whitepaper concluded that high wire speed is prevalent in the wireless division.

Out of the 6,000 customers contacted to rate the wholesalers, ATLANTIC-ACM received feedback from 382 respondents providing 1,639 individual carrier ratings.
